WVU design alumni are living their dreams, combining passions and values with the design process to make their profession a calling.
A Few Dreams
Chris Jones (above) is founder of Mediaworks LLC, producing visual design in
print and media in the DC area, and he is also founder of Kidtropolis, which designs
and fabricates fantasy bedrooms for kids and was recently featured in People Magazine
as the #1 must have for over the top gifts for kids.Richie Gleason (featured
in the banner) graduated with a passion for printmaking and photography as well as
design. He headed for New York and worked his way into the fashion industry as an
art director. His Rachel Roy campaign, Move, was a BEST FILM award winner
in the 2011 La Jolla Fashion Film Festival and featured in HOW Magazine.
Eric Losh is a designer at Hunter Public Relations in Brooklyn, and also a passionate
children’s book illustrator. He is currently publishing an indie book on animals
in Uganda.
Joy Roque Llena is Lead UX Designer at The Coca Cola Company headquarters in Atlanta.
She combined a penchant for logic and mathematics with design at the right time.
Most well known for her line of hilarious nun products, Nun for the Road®, Jill
Seale is carried by companies all over the world for her clever one-liners. Jill
got her start in the creative arts in Washington, DC where she owned a graphic
design studio catering to high-profile events and corporate and political projects.
She soon found herself, however, designing her own gift products that took off
so that she found herself unable to keep up with demand and thus began licensing
her designs to outside companies.

Process
The design process is a start toward crafting a living that has combined with sculpture, television, outdoor passion, fashion, love of kids, environmental protection and more, to start companies, work with a like-minded team or teach, among other possibilities. Passion and lots of hours are also magic ingredients. Our alumni also work in traditional design studios across the US and abroad.

Eric spent two weeks there in 2012, where he assisted biologists in herpetological surveys, helped the staff with groundskeeping and maintenance, and accompanied tour groups on cloud forest hikes, on vacation from his design job as Art Director at Hunter Public Relations in NYC.
